Tom Cruise is back as Ethan Hunt on the film set of Mission: Impossible 7 and Mission: Impossible 8. And it was “benvenuti a Roma” as the film crew set up on the streets of the Eternal City.

First, our snappers spotted a car chase stunt on the cobbled streets with the Italian Polizia chasing a black BMW without any doors on screeching round the tight corners.

Then in another scene Tom was spotted with a driving wheel in his hand looking around before a grey van stopped near him and Simon Pegg’s character, Benji Dunn, opened the back doors and Ethan Hunt hopped in.

The side of the van had a sign that read “Pitture Edili Elli Giordand” which means in English “Elli Giordand – Building Painter”.
Dressed in a smart waistcoat and suit pants, Tom was seen directing on the set with his sleeves rolled up and fashioning a smart short haircut.

The latest film in the franchise also stars Hayley Atwell and the long-running Vinge Rhames with Nicholas Hoult set to star in the eight installment. Mission: Impossible 7 and Mission: Impossible 8 are shooting back-to-back so it is hard to say which scenes in Rome are for either film.
