His full message reads:
“Hi folks. You know me, right? I’m technically only six degrees away from you. Right now like people around the world, I’m staying home, because it saves lives and it is the only way we’re going to slow down the spread of this coronavirus. Because the contact you make with someone who makes contact with someone else that may be what makes somebody’s mom or grandpa or wife sick. Every one of us has someone who is worth staying home for. And I am staying home for Kyra Sedgwick. Kev! Ahh speak of the devil. What? I’m doing something. While you’re staying home, you need to post a video or a sign like this one saying who you’re going to stay home for and you tag six friends so they do the same. You can post it on your socials with the hashtag #istayhomefor , so that I can see it. And since we’re all connected by various degrees trust me, I know, we can work together to stay home and keep each other safe and spread the word. #istayhomefor Kyra Sedgwick. You might not have a pig shaped board, but…it still works. Be safe.”

What Is Six Degrees Of Kevin Bacon?
This all started with an interview in 1994. Kevin Bacon was discussing his role in The River Wild with Premiere Magazine and stated “he had worked with everybody in Hollywood or someone who’s worked with them.” Four students from Albright College then invented a parlour game which they called “Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon” based on the “six degrees of separation” concept which puts forward that two people on Earth are six or fewer acquaintance links apart. The students, including Brian Turtle, claimed that anyone involved in the Hollywood film industry can be linked through their film roles to Bacon within six steps.

In 2007 Kevin Bacon even created a charity called SixDegrees.org that the organization builds on the popularity of the “small world phenomenon” by enabling people to become “celebrities for their own causes” by donating to or raising money for any charity in the United States.
