CK Whittle Katherine Langford plays Mara Carlyle in Netflix’s Sci-fi fantasy film titled Spontaneous and we’ve got tons of behind-the-scenes pics that no-one else has!
With very little online about the film, the rights to the novel were acquired in 2016. Katherine Langford signed onboard in December 2017 with production starting in January 2018.
Spontaneous is a Awesomeness Films and Netflix movie which was set for release in 2020. Charlie Plummer, Hayley Law, Piper Perabo, Rob Huebel, Yvonne Orji, Laine MacNeil, Clive Holloway, Bzhaun Rhoden, and Chris Shields also star in the bloody thriller.
A Film About Growing Up…And Blowing Up!
As we mentioned the film is based on the novel by Aaron Starmer which is “a darkly funny and spectacularly original exploration of friendship, good-byes – and spontaneous combustion.” according to the blurb on Amazon.

In our Exclusive video above Katherine Langford can be seen drenched in blood from head to toe. We’re guessing this had something to do with the combustion theme?!
Walking down the street she is then stopped by FBI Agent Rosetti, played by Yvonne Orji, in a squad car. Agent Rosetti, looking shocked, then grabs Mara Carlyle who is still stumbling around.
Katherine Langford Is “The Covington Curse”
In another scene Katherine Langford is on top of a car shouting at protesters. Dozens of angry residents were waving their signs that read “You Are The Covington Curse”, “The Devil Inside Your Children Has Found His Way Out”, “Covington Is Doomed” and “No Peace For The Weekend”!!
Covington is the town where this all takes place, based in Washington State, but the movie was actually filmed in Vancouver, Canada. However according to the book this is all set in New Jersey.
Katherine’s character also had a white bandage on her head as she confronted the protesters wearing black jeans, a matching black tee, and green boots.

“Spring Special: Mix & Match 6 Packs of Beer.”
Katherine Langford, known for her starring role in 13 Reasons Why, was bandaged up and juggling two big bottles of booze when she was spotted filming a more comedy scene in Vancouver.
With the white bandage still on her head, the Aussie star looked to be really struggling to either hold the two bottles or open them as she was photographed outside a liquor store that had a sign reading “Spring Special: Mix & Match 6 Packs of Beer.”
Mara Carlyle then picked up a sign that read “You Are The Covington Curse” which is in King County, Washington where the film will be based.
The “Beautiful Evergreen State”
In a completely separate scene, Katherine was then behind the wheel driving an American Ice Cream truck with a Washington State number plate that read “Beautiful Evergreen State”.
With her perfectly styled wavy blonde hair she looked completely different than the blood soaked figure we had previously witnessed.
