CK Whittle Idris Elba broke many hearts across the world as the Luther star proposed to his girlfriend, Sabrina Dhowre, in front of hundreds of people at the Rio Cinema in London after a screening of his directorial debut titled Yardie!
One audience member, David Marsden from the Sainou Talent Agency, even captured the moment on his phone and posted it to Instagram with the comment: “When you turn up to the #Yardie screening with @sainoutalent clients @adnanmust & @akin.gazi and the director @idriselba steals the show with a #marriageproposal #congratulations #love #marriage” Click on the picture below to view the video:
In these newly released pictures, the couple were also spotted recently at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival where Idris was stopped by fans to take a selfie while Sabrina didn’t realize and had to turn around and wait for her future husband!
Idris, wearing a beanie and a sheepskin jacket, happily posed up with one fan and even Sabrina, wearing a matching winter coat and sunglasses, saw the funny side with a smile on her face.

The couple were attending the film festival to promote his new movie Yardie as they walked from one interview to another in Park City, Utah. Idris shot to fame in the HBO series The Wire.

Sabrina Dhowre is a model and a former Miss Vancouver winning in the title in 2014! She is an American of Somali descent and they met while he as filming The Mountain Between Us.
Idris Elba is set to make his directorial debut called Yardie which is based on the 1992 Victor Headley novel. The book is a story about young Jamaican’s rise from the streets of Hackney, London as a “Yardie” on to the top of the drug-dealing underworld.
