Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were wed in St George’s Chapel but our eagle-eyed reporters spotted some things at the royal wedding that had us puzzled! Here we try to explain some of the funny and light-hearted moments at the wedding of the year.

The Dust
At 8.35am a tractor was spotted spraying the dirt road with water at Cliveden House Hotel in Berkshire where Meghan Markle was staying. This was so the dust wouldn’t blow up and make Meghan’s bridal car dirty or prevent the public from seeing a glimpse of the wedding dress!

The Car
No, not Meghan’s, but Prince Harry’s! While Meghan Markle was driven to the Windsor in the Queen’s stunning Rolls Royce Phantom 4, Prince Harry and best man Prince William arrived in an understated Mercedes people carrier! Prince Harry has always been someone not to steal the show and take the limelight away from anyone. Even on his own wedding day, he let others shine. Top man.

The Gloves
As Prince Harry and Prince William walked to St George’s Chapel they both wore white gloves. He then removed the gloves to shake hands with the minister greeting him at the St George’s Chapel. Royal etiquette has the Prince’s well trained where you wear them en route to an event but as a mark of respect, you remove them when meeting a member of the church.

Goldenballs
Meghan clearly made sure she brought a little bit of Hollywood to the guest list. Celebrities in attendance were; Idris Elba and his fiance Sabrina Dhowre, Oprah Winfrey, James Blunt and wife Sofia Wellesley, George Clooney and wife Amal Clooney, Elton John and husband David Furnish, Pregnant Pippa Middleton and her husband James Matthews, Joss Stone, Tom Hardy and partner Charlotte Riley, James Corden and Julia Carey, Carey Mulligan and husband Marcus Mumford.

Meghan’s Suits co-stars were also there to support her. Patrick J Adams, Gina Torres, Sarah Rafferty, Gabriel Macht, Rick Hoffman and Abigail Spencer were all in attendance.

Oh yeah, and Goldenballs himself was in attendance! Posh and Becks turned up with Victoria Beckham putting on her trademark “Scowl” face! I’m sure she let her hair down later!
The Ex’s
Prince Harry’s ex-girlfriend Chelsy Davy was at the wedding! The South African was in an on-off relationship with the prince for seven years but she sat in the crowd wearing a blue outfit and stunning fascinator.

Meghan Markle’s Ex-husband, Trevor Engelson, was not in attendance. Phew!

The Dress
No not Meghan’s…Amal’s! Amal Clooney stole the show with her mustard goldenrod Stella McCartney dress and fascinator as she arrived with George Clooney.

Meghan surprised everyone by choosing Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy to design her dress. In fact on Sky News, it was reported that when Meghan’s dress arrived it was too big for her! The seamstresses were then under huge pressure to adjust the dress!

The Yawn
As Meghan Markle arrived at St George’s Chapel, her best friends twins, Brian and John Mulroney, 7, acted as page boys and picked up her train. However, as they entered into the church one of them couldn’t help yawning as he held on to the dress! Classic.

The Laugh
As Prince Harry and Meghan Markle went through their vows the whole congregation burst out laughing when Harry said: “I Will”! This laughter was in reaction to the crowd screaming in joy outside fo the Chapel! Known for his great sense of humour he managed to put everyone at ease smiling and laughing himself.

Meghan’s Family
Meghan’s Mum, Doria Ragland, was the ONLY member of their family to attend. Her poor Dad could not make it to ill health after he was caught being set up by the paparazzi in the week before the wedding. Our thoughts got out to Thomas Markle and hope he makes a speedy recovery.

“Technically” A Princess
Meghan won’t be just be known as The Duchess of Sussex. She can also be addressed as Her Royal Highness Princess Henry of Wales and also has titles in Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Meghan will also be known as Countess of Dumbarton and Baroness Kilkeel respectively. Also, because she is now married to a Prince she is technically a princess, but she won’t be given an official princess title.

Meghan Markle Trivia: Meghan always knew she’d be a royal! Meghan Markle was pictured in 1996 outside Buckingham Palace! Who’d have known 22 years later she was about to marry into the Royal Family!
